Well, not exactly on the way home as I was going somewhere then going home but that's not important.
I'm the maroon line heading west and there was a grey Chevy Malibu (Yellow line). The Malibu went to turn, and as this was ~6:15 on a March evening heading west the Sun was low and blinding, he cut in front of a Silver Chevy Cruze which slammed into the Malibu at around 30 mph on the rear passenger side door. The Cruze took some good damage to the RF portion of the car. The Cruze turned off by the parking lot next to the Cinema. The Malibu just takes off up to 3rd or 4th Street and is followed by a car that was behind me.
Very odd thing to experience, first time I've seen an accident while driving.

I saw the aftermath of a head on collision today as well. A 2014ish subaru outback and another car that I didn't identify. Broken glass everywhere and there were three police cars, two ambulances, and a firetruck. The outback was definitely less demolished than the other car (a sedan). Probably no confidence that today is St Patrick's day... I also watched about 10 people get pulled over and issued tickets. Police are everywhere in Boulder, CO today.

Low sun is a killer, alligned with the street is a killer. We had a fatal accident in wisconsin where a couple obliterated a line of slow cars in an interstate construction zone this time of year, heading due west at 5:30. I never heard a report but looking at google earth, my suspician was they were looking straight into the sun.
Its a reminder to be careful with the visor down.
